Niall Quinn

Hi there! I'm Niall Quinn, an MBA, PMP-certified Operations Director currently calling Dubai home, where I live with my wife and our two wonderful (and energetic!) young children. While the desert sunshine is quite different from my native Northeast England, I've brought along my unwavering passion for Sunderland AFC – though my season ticket doesn't get quite as much use as I'd like these days!

With over 15 years in the technology sector (I know, I don't look my age), I've had the privilege of leading digital transformation initiatives and managing complex IT projects across multiple continents. My career has taken me from Sunderland to Dubai, where I fulfil the role of Operations Director at Howell Technology Group - a Microsoft Partner of the Year Finalist based in South Tyneside.

 

Throughout this journey, I've developed a deep appreciation for the art and science of project delivery – finding that sweet spot between technical excellence and practical implementation.

When I'm not immersed in the world of project management or chasing after my toddlers, you'll likely find me diving into history books – particularly anything about the Cold War era – or following current geopolitical developments. There's something fascinating about understanding how past events shape our present and future, much like how project management principles evolve through practical application and experience.

I started this blog with a simple goal: to share insights, lessons learned, and practical tips from my journey in project management and delivery. Whether you're a seasoned PM or just starting out, I hope you'll find value in these posts.
